Klorofom yang diekstrak dari daun ulam raja mengandungi pelbagai jenis bahan kimia semulajadi yang dikatakan dapat merencatkan aktiviti sesetengan bakteria dan fungus seperticandida albicans dan Bacillus subtilis serta E.Coli.
